Today we started the topic "Algebra-Patterns & Sequences" with them. The class started with an open discussion on questions & statements like:
  • What effect does change have?
  • Life is a vicious circle.

And the discussion led us to different patterns we see around us everyday like in nature, zebra crossing, chess board etc. The students were shown the following videos from you tube:




And then we discussed & solved the opening problem of the chapter and finally after explanation of the concept of finding rules & formula in sequences they did exercises 5A and 5B.1
Eg: 0,3,6,9,........ has rule: +3 and formula: 3n-3 where n=1,2,3,........or 3n where n=0,1,2,3.......
